Police seek help finding missing Colorado girl spotted in Maine
DEXTER — The search for a missing 10-year-old from Westminster, Colo., has made its way to Maine, and the public is asked to keep an eye out for Jessica Ridgeway or the light blue Buick she has reportedly been seen in.
Ridgeway has been missing since the morning of Oct. 5 while she was walking to school, according to Fox 31 Denver. Westminster is about 13 miles north of Denver. There are reports her backpack and a water bottle were found in Superior, which is located 10 miles north of Westminster along Route 287.
On Oct. 7, police in Maine began receiving reports that a girl matching Ridgeway's description had been seen in Dexter and Harmony. Dexter is located about 43 miles northwest of Bangor while Harmony is about 14 miles west of Dexter.
Both callers in Maine reported seeing the girl in the same kind of light blue Buick with Colorado license plates, according to reports.
Westminster, Colo., police have set up a tip line at 303-658-4336 and are also taking information via email at PDamberalert@cityofwestminster.us. Anyone with information can also their local police, or dial 911.
A blog with updates has been established and the Ridgeway family has also set up a Facebook page with more information.
