Penobscot Bay Chamber Expo a business hit

ROCKPORT — Energy is running high in the Midcoast business community that is gathering this afternoon and evening at the annual Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Expo.
The ballrooms and halls at the Samoset Resort are filled with booths representing local enterprise and nonprofits. Visitors from the region are stopping by and chatting products, services and opportunities. They are learning about new businesses in the Midcoast, and reconnecting with old friends as well.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to meet other businesses and to share with them what we do at the Hutchinson Center," said Sue McCullough, center director.
Justin Ford of On The Water in Maine is one of the many people attending the event this year. Ford called this year's Expo "great."
"I am impressed with the quality and quantity of businesses," said Ford. "And there's better treats too."
Adventure Advertising has a booth at the Expo this year, and Joe Ryan said this has always been a fantastic show for his company to exhibit at.
"The year seems to be a lot more excitement, optimism and there's more buzz," said Ryan. "There is a lot of optimism for the summer season and a lot of positive business buzz."
The Business and Community Expo runs through 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. The Samoset is located at 220 Warrenton Street, off Route 1, in Rockport.
