Paul Schneider, obituary
NEW HAMPSHIRE — Paul Schneider, 87, passed away of complications from the COVID-19 virus on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
He was born on December 18, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan.
Paul graduated from Purdue University with a degree in aeronautical engineering in 1955. He served as an Air Force officer in the Foreign Technology Division at Wright Patterson Air Force Base with a military
occupational specialty of aeronautical engineer. He re-entered civilian life at Pratt & Whitey Aircraft in Hartford, Connecticut where he worked on jet propulsion for the rest of his career and where he met his wife, Viola.
Working for both Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and General Electric Aircraft Engine Groups, his work took the family to North Palm Beach, Florida; Cincinnati; Ohio; and Lynn, Massachusetts. From an early age he was interested in aviation and later joined a flying club where he flew a Cessna 172 on weekends.
In 1995, the couple retired to Bedford, New Hampshire. After retirement, he became interested in investing and joined a local investment club.
His wife, Viola, passed away in November 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Carole Schneider; his son, Scott Schneider; a daughter-in-law, Lois Schneider; and two grandchildren, Douglas and Heather of Suffield, Connecticut.
Mr. Schneider will be laid to rest privately, beside his beloved wife, Viola, at Rockville Cemetery, Rockport.
