North Haven man accused of sexually assaulting girl
ROCKLAND – A North Haven man appeared in Knox County Unified Court Sept. 13 after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Easton Adams, 21, was arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Sept. 11. Police said that he had left the island and was in Rockland.
According to the affidavit filed by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in Knox County Unified Court, the alleged assault occurred Sept. 8 on North Haven. The victim stated to police that the sex was consensual, but according to Maine law, she was not of legal age.
After Adams was arrested, he was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland. His bail was set at $5,000 cash at the court hearing, which he later posted, and was released from jail.
Adams is now on supervised release and one of his bail conditions stipulates that he cannot return to North Haven.
He will appear in court again on Oct. 31.
