BANGOR — Mary Josephine Burns, 86, longtime Rockland resident, passed away April 19, 2013. She was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Old Town to Frederick A. and June Scott Burns of Old Town.

Mary graduated from Old Town High School and enjoyed reading, Bingo, collecting and cats.

She is predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Gladys McCullen and Margaret Sinclair; her nephew, Frederick P. Knight; and her loving companion, Charles M. Currier.

She is survived by two sisters, Jane S. Knight of Bangor and Frances P. Keeran and her husband, Henry, of Maine and Florida; one brother, Frederick A. Burns and his wife, Dorothy, of Fayetteville, N,C,; her nephew, Patrick M. Keeran and his wife, Tess, of Bangor; as well as many other nieces and nephews around the country.

Private interment will be at Sea View Cemetery in Rockport.
