Mallett Brothers Band returns to Camden Opera House, March 21
CAMDEN — Camden Opera House welcomes back The Mallett Brothers Band, Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. TMBB’s evening of Maine-made alt-Americana/rock will be opened by Chris Ross.
The Malletts have performed annually at the opera house for many years now; last year’s concert, enjoyed backstage by the late David Mallett, can be viewed on the band’s YouTube channel. This year’s show will feature tunes from the band’s upcoming Higher Up in the Hills album, due for an April release.
Founded in 2009, The Mallett Brothers Band have had lineup changes and stylistic shifts over the years but continues to represent Maine’s frontier-inspired independence. TMBB features Luke and Will Mallett on vocals, acoustic and electric guitar; Nick Leen on bass; Andrew Martelle on vocals, fiddle, mandolin and guitar; and Brian Higgins on drums.
Opening the show is another Camden Opera House favorite. Award-winning Maine singer-songwriter Chris Ross is a native of Hancock and 2014 winner of the New England Music Awards’ Songwriter of the Year award.
"Known for his cinematic lyrics and sharp humor, Ross’ wit matches his musical talent," said Camden Opera House, in a news release.
The March 21 concert is sponsored by Camden Premier Inns and 40 Paper. Reserved seat tickets are $27 in advance, $30 day-of-show, at camdenoperahouse.com or by calling the box office at 236-3154.
