Maine Community Foundation grants will expand ‘Home to ME’ services
PORTLAND – The Knox County Committee of the Maine Community Foundation has awarded more than $36,000 in grants to 13 nonprofits to expand services that enable older adults in Knox County to remain safely in their homes.
Other grant recipients include:
• Leaps of Imagination, to support a program for underserved Thomaston children that
promotes art, imaginative thinking and literacy skills
• Watershed Institute, to create a science lab and climate change resource center at the new
schoolhouse.
The Knox County Fund is a permanent endowment that supports projects and nonprofits that strengthen communities in the county. Applications go through the foundation's Community Building
Grant Program and are reviewed by a committee of local leaders. The next proposal deadline is February 15, 2019. The application and guidelines can be found at www.mainecf.org.
