Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence, criminal mischief and criminal trespass
The Knox County Sheriff’s office received 273 calls for service from Dec. 28-Jan. 3. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
Dec. 28
Deputy Robert Potter responded to a domestic on Vinalhaven. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated.
Dec. 29
Deputies John Hansen and Matt Elwell responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. Following this response, a juvenile female was arrested for a domestic violence assault.
Deputy Arthur Smith began an investigation of theft in Hope. This is still an active investigation.
Dec. 30
Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to assist Rockport Police officers at the scene of a disorderly. This is a Rockport Police case.
Following a traffic stop in St. George, Hansen arrested Vincent Hilt, 20, of St. George, on a charge of violating conditions of release. The subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Elwell assisted Thomaston Police Officer Michael Blais at the scene of a well-being check. The subject in question was located and transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for an evaluation. This is a Thomaston Police case.
Deputy Nathaniel Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Owls Head involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.
Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the town of Union involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.
Dec. 31
Deputy Paul Pinkham responded to a report of a domestic in Warren. Following this response, Robert Carlson, 27, of Warren, was arrested on a charge of a domestic violence assault. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Deputy Jeremy Joslyn arrested Sarah Stalcup, 33, of Waldoboro, on a probation violation. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Jack, Joslyn and Mitchell responded to assist Thomaston Police Officer Olaf Sigaud at the scene of an adult female threatening to harm herself. The female was secured. This is a Thomaston Police case.
Jan.1
Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. No damage.
Jack responded to a report of two disorderly females in Warren. After speaking to all involved, one was issued a warning for trespass.
Jack arrested Victoria Porter, 50, of Warren, on two outstanding arrest warrants. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Jan. 2
Pinkham arrested Kenneth Spear, 47, of Cushing, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Joslyn and Sgt. John Palmer responded to a report of a domestic in Warren. This was deemed a verbal argument only and one subject was issued a warning on trespass.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Jack issued summonses for attaching false plates and no proof of insurance.
Following a traffic stop in Washington, Joslyn arrested Jonathan Flood, 24, of Farmingdale, on a probation hold. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Jan. 3
Jack and Joslyn responded to a report of a domestic in Owls Head. Following this response, Annette Burns, 47, of Rockland, was arrested on charges of a domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and criminal trespass. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Pinkham issued a summons for speed.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Spear issued a summons for no insurance.
Elwell began an investigation of harassment in Union. The suspect was located and issued a notice for same.
Elwell and Joslyn responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties separated.
