Knox County Criminal Docket closed cases
ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from July 6-13.
Christopher Chandler, 40, of Rockland, theft by deception, with priors, in Rockland Oct. 19, 2019, 18 months in prison all suspended, probation one year, 10 months, restitution $36.91; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, with priors, in Thomaston Dec. 17, 2019, two years in jail with all but 94 days suspended, probation one year, 10 months, restitution $36.91; violating condition of release in Thomaston Dec. 17, 2019, 14 days in jail; unlawful possession of scheduled drug in Thomaston Dec. 17, 2019, $400 fine.
Calvin Elwell, 34, of Rockland, domestic violence assault in Rockland May 23, 2019, 364 days in prison with all but 120 days suspended, probation two years.
Devon Gross, 33, of Rockland, violating protection from abuse order in Thomaston Nov. 23, 2019, dismissed.
Thomas D. Hummel, 76, of Washington, assault, criminal mischief, misuse of 911 system, two counts, and indecent conduct in Washington May 3, 2020, all charges dismissed; misuse of 911 system in Washington May 4, 2020, dismissed; misuse of 911 system in Washington March 28, 2020, dismissed.
Michael Minson, 33, aggravated assault in Rockland Feb. 8, 2020, 15 years in jail with all but seven years suspended, probation four years, restitution $200. Minson will serve concurrent sentences for aggravated assault and theft, also occurring in Rockland Feb. 8. Another charge of assault, and additional charges of criminal restraint, domestic violence assault, and domestic violence terrorizing from Feb. 8 were all dismissed.
According to the affidavit filed by Rockland Police in Knox County Unified Court, they responded to a domestic disturbance Feb. 8 incident at an apartment building in Rockland. The victim told police that she tried to stop Minson from buying suboxone, but he got mad and grabbed her by the throat causing her to pass out. She said he tried to strangle her with both hands.
Police noted that the victim’s neck was red and bruised, according to their report.
At the time of the Feb. 8 incident, Minson was on probation for manslaughter. Police said he also violated the conditions of his probation by testing positive for alcohol and marijuana.
Donald E. Pomelow III, 41, of Rockland, probation violation for original convictions of domestic violence assault and criminal restraint, both in Rockland July 28, 2019, 120 days in jail, probation partially revoked, probation continued.
Joshua Scholz, 42, of South Thomaston, probation violation for original conviction of domestic violence assault in South Thomaston Jan. 29, 2019, nine months in jail, probation partially revoked; domestic violence assault in South Thomaston Feb. 5, 2020, nine months in jail; obstructing report of a crime in South Thomaston Feb. 5, 2020, dismissed; violating conditions of release, nine counts, in Thomaston from March 19-26, 2020, four years in prison, all suspended, probation two years.
Michael S. Thomas, 33, of Thomaston, operating under the influence (alcohol) in Thomaston May 18, 2019, $500 fine, 48 hours in jail, license suspended 150 days.
