ROCKLAND — Junille Glenda “Juni” Wieting Shepardson of Rockland passed away Aug. 31, 2013.
Juni was born in Texas April 12, 1944, the daughter of the Rev. Wilson and Viola Wieting. She is survived by many loving family members, including her husband of 25 years, Jed; her daughters (Tanya) Kristin Collins of Camden and Tina Taylor and her wife, Kristen Ripley, of Maynard, Mass.; her stepson Eric Shepardson and his wife, Magda, of Jackson, Mich.; her grandchildren Josh Dean, Zachary Collins and AJ Collins of Camden, Lindsey Shepardson of Owensboro, Ky., and Natalie Shepardson of Jackson, Mich.; her brother, David Wieting and his wife, Nancy, of Fredricksburg, Texas; her sisters, Vivian Wieting White and her husband, Don, of Conroe, Texas, and Ruth Wieting and her husband, Håkan Joelson, of Umea, Sweden; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Juni found great joy in so many endeavors. She celebrated her love for music by directing choirs and the Windjammer Barbershop Chorus, playing percussion with the Mid Coast Community Band and singing from her heart. Juni had lunch dates almost every day of the week, and kept in regular touch with countless relatives and friends near and far. She loved to be creative with sewing, quilting and crochet. Juni loved Mexican food, and good old iced tea with extra ice. On Sundays, during football season, she could be found at home cheering loudly for the New England Patriots and Texas A&M Aggies. She could also be found watching March Madness basketball and Red Sox baseball games. She treasured time spent with her adoring grandchildren. Every year, Juni looked forward to a day trip with her daughters, Kristin and Tina, to the Jordan Pond House at Acadia National Park for tea and popovers.
