Eileen Dondlinger steps down as Waldoboro town clerk
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro will have a new Town Clerk in place this fall as Eileen Dondlinger submitted her resignation earlier this month.
The position’s opening started being advertised July 19, shortly after a July 3 letter from Town Manager Julie Keizer announcing Dondlinger had been reappointed to the position, along with a group of other municipal appointments.
Dondlinger’s last day on the job will be Sept. 27.
The full-time position entails being the administrative head of the Town Clerk’s Office and manages the department, a job posting for the position stated.
“The Town Clerk has direct responsibility for the organization, financial management, general administration and efficient operation of the department,” the posting noted. “The Town Clerk is responsible for preparing and maintaining official documents, supervising elections, issuing licenses and permits, recording documents, and maintaining the Town’s record system. Work includes extensive public contact with a high degree of independent action in the disposition of routine matters and in reviewing complaints, and giving information.”

The job posting noted applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, formal courses in business or office procedures. One or more years' experience working in municipal government is desired and preference may be given to applicants who have experience as a Town Clerk or Deputy Clerk.
The town, according to the job posting, has a population of slightly over 5,000.
