Cynthia M. Wolters, obituary
UNION — Cynthia M. Wolters, 89, died Feb. 4, 2013, after a long illness at Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland.
Born in Rockland May 21, 1923, she was the daughter of Frank R. and Nina Perry Greeley. She attended local schools and was a 1942 graduate of Rockland High School.
She joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 as a WAVE, and was honorably discharged in 1945.
Returning to Maine, she married Paul K. Wolters of Rockport Oct. 18, 1947, at the Catholic Church in Rockland.
Moving to Appleton in December 1947, the couple operated a poultry farm. In October 1951, their son Joseph P. Wolters was born. Following their retirement, they moved to Union.
Mrs. Wolters is survived by her son, Joseph, of Unity; and several nieces and nephews.
An hour of visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
