Camden Planning Board to take 7:30 a.m. site walk for proposed harbor pier
CAMDEN — The Camden Planning Board will first convene July 7 at 7:30 a..m. at 144 Bay View Street, at a private residence where the owners hope to construct a 140.4-foot pier into the harbor, extending toward Curtis Island.
The zone is Coastal Harbor.
Cottage Holdings LLC, represented by Blake Silverman, has met once with the Planning Board about the pier, and will meet again Thursday evening, at 5 p.m., at a the regularly scheduled planning board meeting in the Washington Street Conference Room.
The agenda also includes talking with Chip Laite, owner of Laite Construction, about possibly amending the town’s land use ordinance to allow boat maintenance on the company’s property on Route 1 north, near the Camden Hills State Park.
The changes, if developed and presented to voters, would amend the town’s coastal residential land use regulations.
This initial discussion on the agenda for the July 7 meeting is tentative.
Also on the agenda:
A discussion proposed by Emsworth Property LLC, the Portland-based company that recently acquired 87 Elm Steet, former home to HAV II.
The new owners of the office building want to revise signage rules so as to make the names of the building occupants more visible to passersby on Route 1.
(PenBayPilot.com is a tenant of 87 Elm.)
