$11.5 million allocated by federal government for Maine environmental projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a total of $11,550,148 to the Maine Department of Health of Human Services, the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, and the Aroostook Band of Micmacs.
The funding will boost efforts to support cleaner air, safer drinking water, and the redevelopment of hazardous waste sites, per a news release.
Specifically, the funding is awarded as follows:
Maine DHHS for Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program – $11,011,000
Maine DECD for State of Maine Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Program – $375,000
Aroostook Band of Micmacs – $164,148
