Waldo County Volunteer Recruitment Expo in Belfast, Oct. 14
United Midcoast Charities (UMC) will hold its Waldo County Volunteer Recruitment Expo, a free public event designed to connect community members with nonprofit organizations in need of volunteer support. The expo will take place Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Waldo County YMCA, 157 Lincolnville Avenue, Belfast.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from a wide range of nonprofit groups serving Knox and Waldo counties, explore volunteer opportunities, and discover how their passions and skills can support vital community needs.
“Volunteers are the heartbeat of our nonprofit sector,” said Becca Gildred, Executive Director of United Midcoast Charities. “This event is a chance for people to find meaningful ways to give back—whether they have a few hours a month or are looking for a deeper commitment.”
The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required for attendees.
"Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just curious about getting involved, the Waldo County Volunteer Recruitment Expo offers a welcoming space to learn, connect, and make a difference," said UMC.
Nonprofit organizations interested in participating should contact United Midcoast Charities at 207-236-2299 or email admin@unitedmidcoastcharities.org to register.
Event sponsors are 105.5 The Wave, 106.9 Frank FM, and the Waldo County YMCA.
