Thomaston Grammar awards for February 2026 focus on honesty
Students at Thomaston Grammar School have been focusing on honesty during the month of February. Several students at TGS were recognized for their honesty at a school-wide assembly on March 4.
Students receiving the Honesty Award were Arthur Endyke-Lee, Cameron Petty, Mallku Bertocci, Adelaide Walsh, Izalea Donnell-McLean, Ezra Reed, Dresden Fairfield, Ruby Benedict, Kayden Barnard, Milo Fisher, Jayden Callahan, Emmett DeYoung, Lincoln Moorman, Lila Haskell, Autumn Morin, Zayn Rounds, Aubree Joynt, Noah Gagnon, and Norah Smith.
The assembly was emceed by fifth grade students Gemma Rubino and Zoey Hendron.
All of the students receiving the Honesty Award are known to be honest. They are honest, even when it may be difficult to do so. Students who are honest can be trusted to do what is asked of them, to contribute to the group or team, to be loyal to their friends, classmates, and family members, and to tell the truth always. People who are honest share their opinions, but do so in a responsible and respectful way. They often help those around them to understand that honesty is the best policy. They are good examples when interacting with their peers. They are known to be trustworthy in all situations.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for being honest. These tickets were put into a raffle and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a prize, including gift cards donated by local businesses or lunch or a game with Mrs. Riley. This month’s raffle winners were Juliette Johnson, Skylar Haynes, Ella Curry, Riley Blakeway, Calvin Chamberlain, and Calvin Paul.
Joy Chen also received the Principal’s Award. Joy is a marvelous member of the TGS community. It is apparent to all that she cares about her peers and the staff members at TGS. She works hard to be an excellent member of the school community. She is consistently respectful in her interactions with all members of the community. She is kind to everyone and responsible for making the choice to do what is right. The assembly concluded with a Leprechaun Coin Toss!
Four teams competed in this exciting challenge. Each team took turns tossing “gold” coins into a pot, aiming carefully, and cheering one another on. The goal was simple - to get as many coins into the bucket as possible. In the end, Team One claimed the victory by landing the most coins in the pot. Congratulations to the winning team members: Derrick Corson, London York, Izalea Donnell, Elodie Fournier, and Tucker O'Hare.
"We are so proud of all our participants for showing great teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit," said TGS, in a news release. "What a fun way to celebrate together and enjoy some friendly competition!"
Next month, students at TGS will be focusing on cooperation.
Congratulations to all the students who received awards at TGS this month!
