John G. Flower, Sr., obituary
APPLETON — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John G. Flower Sr., who left us peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on May 4, 1962, in Camden, Maine, John was a cherished son to Donald Walter Flower and Mary Esther (Garey) Flower. He grew up in Warren, where he filled his childhood with adventure and curiosity, eventually graduating from Medomak Valley High School in the Class of 1980.
John dedicated his professional life to the woodworking industry, working diligently as a machinist for notable companies, including Friendship Trap, Bath Iron Works, Flowers Boat Works, Lincoln's Country Store, and finally, Lie-Nielsen Toolworks. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in everything he did, whether it was honing his skills to create stunning wooden pieces or making arrows for bows.
A man of many interests, John was not only a talented woodworker but also an avid shooter and a martial arts enthusiast. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing guitar and spending time outdoors-where he often shared laughter with friends and family.
John was a proud member of the Knox County Fish & Game Association.
Preceded in death by his parents, infant son Brandon, and brother Donald.
He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Arminda Roach and Brittany Peaslee, and son, John G. Flower Jr.
John's family was his pride and joy, and he adored his grandchildren: Brandon, Brianna, Christian, Mylz, Jessalynn, Jasmine, Nevaeh, Dylan, and Austin.
He will be deeply missed by his significant other, Maura Childers, and his brother Kenny Flower Sr., along with his nephews Kenny Flower, Jr. and David Flower, and sister-in-law, Gina Flower
John's memory will live on through the stories and laughter he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he left behind.
In celebration of John's life, family and friends are invited to join in a memorial service, where we will gather to honor the remarkable man he was. The service will take place Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10 a.m., at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro.
