Amy Lyle Johnson, obituary
WASHINGTON — Amy Lyle Johnson, 44, died on March 4, 2026 at her home in Washington, Maine.
Amy was born October 24, 1981 in New London, Connecticut. She grew up in the town of Moosup and graduated from Plainfield High School in the class of 1999. After high school, Amy and her family moved to Maine.
Amy worked in several places including the Pope Memorial Animal Shelter where she adopted her first dog, Zoe. It would be hard to find anyone who loved dogs more. Kitties got plenty of love too!
She also worked as a C.N.A. at Cove’s Edge in Damarisicotta, and worked for Anthony Zampa as a landscaper, property manager, and painter. Most recently, Amy worked for Gray’s Oil Company where she was a beloved employee.
Amy was well known for being the kindest person you could ever meet. She gave of herself, her time and her love.
She was a smart, creative, spiritual person who was compassionate about taking care of people.
Amy was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, and paternal grandparents.
She is survived by her two sons, Jiles Morton and Jacob Morton of Newcastle; sister, Rebecca Johnson, and niece, Catarina Johnson; parents, Tara and David Johnson of Newcastle; granddaughter (Jile’s daughter), Layla and her mother Kayleigh Maloney of Newcastle; grandfather Lawrence M. Johnson and his companion Marcia Zimmerman of Mystic, Connecticut; aunt Rachel Turner and her husband Matthew; uncle Larry Johnson and his wife Sally of North Carolina; uncle Jed Johnson and his wife Bonnie of Connecticut; cousins, Sarah Johnson, Jed Johnson and Jacob Johnson.
The family asks that any donations please be made to the Pope Memorial Animal Shelter. A gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20 th at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street in Waldoboro.
