Born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late George Pratt Hunt, Jr., and Reviola Kelsey Tillbrooke Hunt, of Pittsfield, and grandson of the late George Pratt Hunt, M. D. and Florence Patton Hunt, also of Pittsfield. Don was a graduate of Northfield Mount Hermon School and Duke University, and he served in the U. S. Army.

    BELFAST — Beatrice Mary Tweedie, 94, died on November 27, 2017 at Tall Pines in Belfast where she had resided since 2013. Born in Weeksboro, Maine, on April 27, 1923, she was the daughter of Guy E. and Delsie (Morton) Williams. She grew up in Thorndike and married James W. Tweedie in New York City in 1949.

    Bea and Jim had lived in Massachusetts and moved to Bayside in 1977 where they lived for 10 years, before moving to Cedar Street and then Union Street in Belfast.

    Priscilla grew up in Camden and was a graduate of Camden High School class of 1949. Throughout her entire life she kept in touch with her fellow classmates and enjoyed taking part in her class reunion every year! One of her fondest memories was a class trip to Washington, D.C.

    Shirley grew up in Washington and Hope area and attended schools in Washington. She was a stay at home mom, raising her children and also ran an adult foster care home for 20 years. She also worked at the blueberry canning factory in Union.

    FRIENDSHIP – Paul W. Lash, 94, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 25, 2017.

    Born in Friendship, June 4, 1923, he was the son of Robert and Levilda Newbert Lash. He attended Friendship schools.

    At the age of 19, Paul joined the United States Army and fought in Italy during World War II, as part of the 45th Infantry Brigade Thunderbirds. Wounded while fighting for our country, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

    GARDINER and ROCKLAND - Adam Daniel Purington, 37, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

    Adam was born on June 17, 1980, the son of Dana Fred Purington Sr. and Fern Purington. He grew up in Gardiner, Maine, and did a four year tour in the Army after graduating from Gardiner Area High School in 1999. At the time of his death, Adam was employed as a commercial fisherman in Rockland. It was a job he greatly enjoyed for the last 10 years.

She grew up in Searsmont and married Isaiah B. Davis at the age of 16, with whom she started a family. They had four children and were long-time residents of Searsmont before retiring to Swanville. During her working years, Ethel worked in potato farming and for Penobscot Poultry.
