    ROCKLAND — Charles I. Kurr, 69, was welcomed home to heaven on October 5, 2018 after a courageous battle with lymphoma with his son at his side. He will live on forever in our hearts. Born on February 4, 1949, he was the son of Robert L. Kurr and Dorothy Ryan Kurr.

    CAMDEN — Isabel Ann Maddox, 82, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Sussman House in Rockport. 

    Born in Camden on August 21, 1936, she was the daughter of Carle and Helen (Crockett) Maddox.  She attended school in Rockport, formerly attended Rockport Baptist Church, and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Camden. 

    An avid reader, Isabel loved attending church and singing.  She has been a resident at Merry Gardens in Camden for several years.

    ROCKLAND – Brian C. Campbell, 69, died unexpectedly, at his Methodist Home residence, Sunday, October 7, 2018.

    Born in Hartford, Connecticut, December 5, 1946, he was the son of Garfield and Anna Delong Campbell. He attended East Hartford High School and went on to graduate from Central Connecticut College with a business degree.

    Karen, daughter of the late William A. Feeney, Sr., and Veronica (Saunders) Feeney, was born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 23, 1959.

The daughter of Ynema and Eugene Mulholland, she was born in New York City on February 26th, 1929. Shortly after she was born, she moved with her mother and brother to Oklahoma City where she was raised, attended school and went to the University of Oklahoma.

    ROCKPORT —Sandra Hall, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born in Camden on July 5, 1935, she was the daughter of Louise and Paul Jones.

    She was a 1952 graduate of Union High School. She married her husband James Hall on July 5, 1953 and they were married for 60 years.

    For almost 30 years, she worked with children with special needs at the Henderson School, South School in Rockland and the Life Skills Program.

    In 1959, Kathleen received a Bachelor of Science degree in education at Suffolk University. 

    On February 24, 1962, Kathleen married John T. Fitzpatrick in Brookline.

    Born in Orange, NJ on March 28, 1922 to his parents, Albert Joseph and Helen. He resided in New Jersey until moving to Belfast in 1994, following the passing of his beloved first wife Catherine.

    AUGUSTA — Leeann Charlotte Condon Shenett, age 48, of Augusta, passed away after a long battle with cancer on October 3, 2018 at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills.

    Leeann was born on January 25, 1970 to Maurice B. Condon, Sr. and Arlene M. Collins Condon in Augusta, Maine.  

    She grew up in Washington, Maine and attended Prescott Memorial School.

    WALDOBORO — Heidi L. Waning, age 54, of Waldoboro died unexpectedly August 25, 2018 in her home of heart complications due to high blood pressure. Heidi had her CRMA (Certification in Risk Management Assurance) working at Progressive Housing, and was a Chef at many restaurants in the Mid-Coast Maine Area for over 35 years.

    Heidi loved animals, especially rescuing and rehabilitating them, cooking, but most of all, her family.

    WALDOBORO — Melody Ann Feltis, 52, succumbed to her battle with cancer on September 29, 2018 at her home in Waldoboro. She was born November 29, 1965 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Stillman Curtis Lawrence, III and Mary Louise Delisle Lawrence.

    She was raised and brought to Maine in 1974 and attended Rockland High School. Melody worked at GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro and also delivered newspapers for the Courier Gazette.

    The life of Robert "Bob" Slater of Owls Head will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Thomaston, 200 Main St (Main and Green Streets).

    His family invites friends and neighbors to join them for a memorial service in the church, followed by a reception downstairs.

    Ruby Burkeen Elwell passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 surrounded by her children.  Ruby was born on June 25, 1935 in Greenfield, Oklahoma.  She married Ed Elwell in 1955 and moved to Maine where she raised five children. 
     
    Mom will always be remembered for her famous pies and homemade bread.  In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked at Waldo County General Hospital as housekeeper. She also helped Dad at Sears Catalog Store and later at Clark Real Estate.

Salutatorian of the Class of 1954 Vinalhaven High School, she played on the girls basketball and softball teams at the school.

    ROCKLAND - Barbara P. Smalley, 93, died peacefully at home with her son, Richard, and hospice staff, after a long illness on September 19, 2018.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Richards, in 1956.  They had a daughter, Linda Richards, who was 10 years old at the time of her father’s death.  Now a single mother, Barbara accepted a position at New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, where she was employed until the office closed in 1982.

    Bruce attended Mt. View High School class of 1976.  He then completed boot camp, spending time in the Naval reserve before moving to California where he completed school to become a pro golfer.

    Mark Malcolm Daggett was born on May 18, 1959 to Wesley and Phyllis Daggett at the Knox Hospital in Rockland, Maine. He may have met his future wife, Dianne, on this auspicious day as Dianne’s mother left the Knox Hospital with little Dianne on the day that Mark was born. Mark was always a hard worker. He developed an interest in carpentry and entrepreneurship at a young age. He graduated from Georges Valley High School in 1977.

    She was born on February 7, 1974 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Adrienne attended New Bedford High School, from which she graduated at age 17 and had her first-born son.
     
    Soon after, she met her husband and they welcomed two more sons to the world. Her family later moved to Maine.

    PORTLAND - Elizabeth F. Hummer, died unexpectedly in Rockport, ME on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at age 92.  She was the oldest daughter of Marlin and Melva Farnum. In 1927 Elizabeth “Betty” and her younger sister Hilda accompanied their parents to Japan where their father was to serve as a missionary. The family lived in Japan until 1940 (1941 for her father).
