    ROCKLAND — Henry Rust Sleeper, 88, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 17, 2019. He was born in Rockland, December 11, 1930, the son of Cleveland and Dorris (Bradlee) Sleeper.

    He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Sleeper and his brother, Edward Sleeper.

    Born November 5, 1921 in Laconia, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Reverend Arthur Stanley Beale and Ethel Merrill Beale.

    WARREN — Cheyenne E. Cesarini, 27, became the most beautiful angel in the arms of Jesus, Thursday, August 8, 2019.

    Born March 2, 1992 in Dunedin, Florida, she was the daughter of Shannon L. Cesarini. From a young age, Cheyenne was a caregiver at heart. She spent countless, happy hours helping her mom raise her three younger siblings. She loved nothing more than carting her baby brother, Coleby, around on her hip when she was just 13 years old.

Three of her children were students at this school, where they shared her willingly with her students. She was that kind of person, that kind of teacher, that kind of caring person — the one who teaches you so much more than what’s in the classroom.

    WARREN — D. Elaine Chandler, 75, of Warren, passed away from complications related to Parkinson’s disease on August 11, 2019 at the Sussman House with her family by her side. She was born on May 6, 1944 in Quincy, Massachusetts, to G. Vernon Jordan and Dorothy (Clark) Jordan.

    Elaine attended Warren Grade School, Warren High School, the Eastern Nazarene College, Millerville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the Bangor Theological Seminary in 2009.

She later went on to pursue her education and career in cosmetology by attending Empire Beauty School in Waterville.

    THOMASTON — Gwendolyn M. Ranquist, died August 3, 2019, at the age of 96, at the Sussman House in Rockport, surrounded by her family.

    Gwen was born January 10, 1923, in Rockland, Maine.

    One of eleven children, she was the second child and first daughter of Charles and Myrtle Robinson. She attended schools in Rockland.

    In 1952, Gwen married the love of her love, Charles Ranquist. Together they raised seven children.

    THOMASTON — Harold (Wig) LeRoy Wiggin, 92, passed away peacefully at the Sussman House with his loving family by his side on August 4, 2019.

    Wig was born in South Thomaston on April 24, 1927 to LeRoy Wiggin and Nellie (Steiof) Wiggin. He was the second of six children. He attended schools in South Thomaston and Rockland. Wig left Rockland High School in his senior year and enlisted in the United States Navy as a Combat Air Crewman.

    Born May 23, 1928 in Ash Point, Owls Head, she was the daughter of Elmer D. and Kate Heard Curtis.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lawry Nash; her granddaughter, Aine Elizabeth Taylor Knight; her sisters, Marian Curtis Marston and Gwen Curtis Marston; as well as her son-in-law, John R. Taylor, III.

    MORRILL — Leslie Jesse Peters was born on May 14, 1943 in Mombasa, Kenya to Sylvia Myrtle Battye and Ernest Albert Peters.

    He grew up in a large family with many brothers and sisters. He often played cowboys and Indians and dreamt of someday going to America. Les developed a love for music at an early age and was in several rock and roll bands in Kenya. One of his proudest accomplishments was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.

    Jerry was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 13, 1930 to Frances (Hughes) and Harvey Gordley. 

    The Gordley family moved to Brookville, Ohio where Jerry spent most of his childhood. Jerry attended Brookville High School and married his high school sweetheart Jeanne (Bader) Gordley. They proudly raised three children, Tim, Scott and Beth.

She was elected the Seaside Wonderland Carnival Queen in her senior year.
