    Earle George “Skipper” Wentworth passed away at his home in Rockport, Maine, on May 19, 2020, after a battle with cancer.

    He was a lifetime resident of Rockport, as were his parents, Blanche and Kenneth Wentworth, who predeceased him in 1979 and 1995, respectively.

    Skipper attended Rockport High School from 1962 through 1965, and graduated from Camden-Rockport in 1966.

    BELFAST — Betty G. Hustus, 91, passed away May 12, 2020 in Belfast. 

    She was born in Belfast October 29, 1928 to Bert and Hilda (Dyer) Farnum. She lived in Tombstone for five years and was known as the town witch.

    Betty was musically inclined – she was an accomplished pianist, sang and played guitar which she enjoyed teaching to friends. She was an astute, beautiful artist and made wood-crafted signs.

    THOMASTON — David J. Frost, 53 of Thomaston, passed away Saturday night, May 16, from cancer. 

    He is survived by his wife, Shany Frost; his mother, Jeanette Frost; son Chris Frost, daughter Jessica Frost; step-son Tyler; brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews as well as many other family and friends.  

    David was known for his hard work ethic and generosity. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

    BELFAST — Frank Jesse Hart, 83 of Belfast, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 16, 2020 at Sussman House in Rockport. He had been surrounded by his loving family in the days preceding.

    Frank was born in Appleton, Maine on September 20, 1936, the third child of Frank J. and Sheila (Miller) Hart. He was raised on the family dairy farm in Appleton with sisters Carolyn and Esther. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1955 and played on the basketball and baseball teams.

    On Friday May 15, 2020, Robert Gordon Lewis Jr., loving husband, father, and "Pop Pop", was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

    Robert was born on June 25, 1954 in Rockland, Maine to Robert G. Lewis Sr. and Beverly Kitching Lewis. He was the oldest of three children. He grew up in West Rockport with his brother, "Billy," and sister, Jeannie. He attended local schools and received his diploma from Camden High School in 1974.

    CAMDEN — Harold E. Richards passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Pen Bay Medical Center, following a short illness.

    Born September 5, 1933 one of eleven children, Harold was the youngest child of Burnside and Hattie Demmons Richards.

    For many years, Harold was employed at the Knox Woolen Company as a loom operator and then as a janitor for Camden Rockport High School. He also was a member of the Camden Volunteer Fire Dept.

    WARREN — Betty Ann Hittmeier passed away peacefully at her home in Warren, Maine on May 10, 2020 with her husband and daughter by her side.

    Mrs. Hittmeier was born at her parents’ home south of Litchfield, Illinois on April 16, 1940. She was the daughter of Otto and Lorene (Randle) Lay. She married Michael Hittmeier on June 17, 1961. Together the Hittmeier’s moved to Maine when he retired in 2001.

    Suzanne attended Elmira public schools, The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and Elmira College. She was a member of Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church in Belfast.

    Irene settled in Belfast after her retirement in 2013 to live near her son Morten Moesswilde and his extended family. She embraced the community and enjoyed long walks outdoors, German conversation group at the Coop, church events, and local concerts, even as her health grew frail. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast.

    Born in Rockland, December 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Theodore and Maudie Beaton Lewis. Brenda was a loving daughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt, grandmother and great-Grandmother (Gigi). She lived her entire life in the state of Maine, except for several winters spent in North Carolina.

    Born in Rockland, November 21, 1923, he was the son of Charles and Marion Skinner Dalrymple. Paul attended and graduated from Worcester Classical High School in 1941. Following graduation, he attended Worcester Academy for one year and then Clark University in Worcester before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

    CAMDEN — Peggy Ann (Westcott) Loper, age 80, passed away peacefully in the hands of her husband, Dick Loper, in Pen Bay Hospital after a long struggle with COPD and pneumonia. All those wonderful medical pros were so kind and attentive seeing to the comforts of us both.

    Peggy, born February 27, 1940, was the daughter of May Campbell and Edward Westcott. She and her husband shared 64 years, the last 40 years in Maine after New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

    Born in Sargentville, August 6, 1924, she was the daughter of Albert and Mable Trask Billings. She was educated in Sargentville and Sedgewick schools. Moving to Rockland in 1942,she worked in the local seafood industry.

    On March 8, 1945, she married Irving E. Maloney. They ultimately made their home on West Meadow Road in Rockland, where they raised their family.

    Over the course of his adult life, Andy was a hard worker and worked in carpentry, crane operation, earthwork, and general contracting.

    He was born in Albion, Maine on May 15, 1932 to Wilbur and Beulah (Haskell) Dow. He served in the U.S. Army, then worked as a truck driver for Merrill Transport for many years. He also worked for Dead River and Hannaford.

    Earl was predeceased by both parents; his wife of 50 years, Virginia Mason Dow; and brother Harold Dow.

    She worked as a librarian at rare book and university libraries in Los Angeles, Pasadena, and San Diego in California, at Bowdoin College in Maine, and at Yale University in Connecticut.
