ROCKLAND — Penobscot Bay Language School announces an encore event – Ukrainian Culture & Cuisine (a family event) following the overwhelming interest from the Midcoast community for the February 4 event at Penobscot Bay Language School.

Join others Sunday, March 5, from 1 - 4 p.m., at PBLS’s 28 Gay Street location in Rockland, where Guest Chef Daria Veligura will be showcasing a variety of delicious foods from Ukraine, family favorites – popular with children, according to PBLS, in a news release.

“This event is perfect for families with young ones at home, to enjoy a cultural event (and not miss bedtime!),” said the release.

Popular children’s food, activities and games will be part of this family friendly event.

Pre-registration is required, online registration will open Monday, February 6 at www.penobscot.us (click on Cultural Events)

Veligura and her two young children from Ukraine, have recently settled in the Midcoast area. Through community outreach and events, she is bringing awareness to Midcoast Maine about Ukrainian cultural contributions to the world, amazing food, traditions dating back many hundred of years, and the reality of losing this rich cultural history through the destruction of war.

Proceeds from this event will be shared with a reputable Refugee Relief agency working with Ukrainian families (agency vetting underway).

For more information and to register please visit www.penobscot.us or call (207) 594-1084.
