DECEMBER 10th is “DAY OF GIVING”!

Tue, 12/06/2022 - 10:45am

United Midcoast Charities’ annual “Day of Giving” is just a few weeks away! On December 10, dozens of local retailers and restaurants will be donating part of the day’s proceeds to support more than 50 agencies in Knox and Waldo counties.

“There are a lot of good reasons to shop locally on December 10th,” said UMC President John Viehman. “Day of Giving is a terrific way for all of us to support more than 75 local businesses while also helping those in the community who are struggling to address their most basic needs of food, housing, health and safety, and economic security.”

Sierra Dietz of The Grasshopper Shops in Rockland and Belfast adds, “Since 1975, our family business has taken pride in supporting the local community.  UMC is a valuable resource for nonprofits in Midcoast Maine, assisting the most vulnerable and contributing to a healthy society. The Grasshopper Shop is delighted to do our part to support UMC during these difficult times.”

This year’s Day Of Giving is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank, Allen Insurance & Financial, and Courier Newspapers/VillageSoup.
