ROCKLAND — Nashville’s Tim O’Brien, with his partner Jan Fabricius, will bring rootsy bluegrass songs and tunes to the Strand Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Bluesman Chris Smither will open the show.

“Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien has traveled the world and delighted audiences since 1975 with his warm vocals, string wizardry, and heartfelt original songs,” said Strand, in a news release. “His latest recording He Walked On maps a pathway through today's world; historical and socially conscious themes weave their way through songs about ordinary and not so ordinary people just trying to ‘keep it between the ditches.’  In duet with his wife Jan Fabricius on mandolin and vocals, audiences can expect rootsy acoustic instrumentation and sweet harmony singing, interspersed with O’Brien’s self deprecating humor.”

“Bluesman Chris Smither is known for his effortless, rippling guitar and his songwriting genius,” said Strand. “Reimagining the acoustic blues as a vehicle for rich, philosophically complex lyrics, Smither’s songs offer insightful commentary on the human condition.

After a career spanning more than 50 years, More From The Levee, released in 2020, is Smither’s 18th album.
