Arrest made in Edgecomb fatal crash investigation

    On Wednesday, Oct. 20, a Boothbay woman was arrested in connection with an Oct. 10 fatal motor vehicle crash on River Road in Edgecomb. The crash claimed the life of 17-year-old Paris Pierpont of Jefferson. Pierpont, who died at the scene, was the sole occupant in the vehicle. 

    After an investigation by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Sally Monroe, 30, of Boothbay was arrested and charged with Furnishing or Allowing Consumption of Liquor by Certain Persons Prohibited, Class D.

    The investigation revealed that Pierpont had consumed liquor at Monroe’s residence, allegedly with her knowledge, prior to the crash.

    Monroe was released on bail pending a court appearance on Dec. 16 in Wiscasset District Court.

    The investigation is ongoing.
