ROCKLAND — The City of Rockland’s annual Hazardous Waste Collection day is Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 9 a.m. to Noon, at the Rockland Transfer Station, 400 Limerock Street.
Hazardous Waste Drop Off is made available to Rockland residents; a transfer station sticker or proof of residency is required.
One unit of waste is allowed per resident at no fee, additional waste will be charged at $25/ unit. One unit is equal to 5 gallons or 20 pounds of hazardous waste. Latex paint/architectural finishes are free and do not count towards unit calculation.
Items to bring include:
All paints (oil & latex), stains, thinners, paint strippers, solvents, varnishes, adhesives, rubber cement, waste fuels, engine degreaser, brake fluid, antifreeze, oil, waste oil, hydraulic oil, poisons, insecticides, weed killers, moth balls, hobby supplies, art supplies, oven cleaners, ammonia based cleaners, drain openers, spot removers, swimming pool chemicals, aerosol cans, oil based driveway sealers, old fire extinguishers, compressed gas cylinders and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors,
Items NOT to bring:
Asbestos, commercial or industrial waste, infectious & biological waste, PCB ballast, thermometers and thermostats.
