PORT CLYDE — The Port Clyde Art Gallery invites the public to a celebration of “New Works” by gallery artist members on Friday, July 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. Refreshments provided.

This celebration of the gallery’s 20th season features new works by Angela Anderson, Katharine Cartwright, Jane Derbyshire, Valerie Garrigan, Lydia Kaeyer and Marianne Swittlinger.

Of note is featured artist Lydia Kaeyer whose works will be on special display. Kaeyer studied art at Wheaton College, MA, SUNY Purchase, Round Top Center for the Arts, and the Manatee Art Center, Florida and with David Dewey and Nancy Glassman. She became a professional watercolor painter shortly after moving to Maine in 2000. Her paintings have been exhibited in many local galleries and juried shows in Midcoast Maine and Florida.

“My inspiration comes from the local color of boatyards, the working waterfront, the seascapes and local architecture,” says Kaeyer, in a PCAG news release.

Kaeyer has won numerous prizes for her work in Beaufort, SC and in the Sarasota, Florida area. She is a Master Signature Member of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society and a member of several plein air painting groups in Maine and Florida.
