“June is busting out all over, and so is The Strand on the Air!” said Strand Theatre, in a news release.
The latest installment of the Strand Theatre’s original radio variety show series will be broadcast on Sunday, June 29, at 5 p.m., and can be heard by tuning in to WRFR at 93.3 in Rockland, 99.3 in Camden, or by streaming at WRFR.org. Shows are then made available to stream on the Strand Theatre website at RocklandStrand.com, and as a podcast.
In the “Summa This – Summa That!” edition, Liz McLeod leads the Strand Family Players down the shore to frisk and and caper in the sunshine, Brittany Parker will dish up some appropriate summer melodies, Professor Dan Bookham will sing an ode to that season that’s oh-too-short, and they’ll welcome back Waldo County’s old-time harmony team, Patty Jackson and Rusty Blake, for a brand-new picnic basket full of tunes.
Ace investigator Karl Stuffel will present an exclusive interview with none other than the Strand Theatre Building itself – 98 years young and raring for the future! And down in Abysmal Point, Mrs. Grunden faces the sudden culmination of all her lifelong hopes and dreams when she invents a clam-based snack destined to sweep the nation!
Strand on the Air broadcasts are written, directed, and edited by Liz McLeod. Cast members currently contribute their parts remotely.
