deadlines approaching for local art and fine craft

Belfast’s 25th Arts in the Park planned for June

Event has passed

BELFAST — The 25th Arts in the Park will take place on June 26 and 27 at Steamboat Landing Park on the Belfast waterfront.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will be focusing on local art and fine craft, and applications will only be open to residents of the state of Maine. Applications from Waldo County artists and Belfast Area Chamber members can be submitted exclusively from now to January 31. All Maine artists can apply from February 1 to March 1.

This year the event will be half the size; organizers will be jurying and offering booths to 50 artists.

“We look forward to being back to a full slate of artists in 2022,” said the Chamber, in a news release. “We understand the COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult on many. We hope to continue the event in a safe way this year and will be operating under the recommendations and regulations of the State of Maine and the CDC. Should there be any significant changes in the recommendations, regulations, or the COVID-19 pandemic that would cause us to postpone or cancel the event, we will communicate that immediately.”

Should you have any further questions regarding the event, please email Sandy at

“We look forward to a positive event this year and hope you are able to join us!” said Chamber.
The 2021 Arts in the Park is brought to you by Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Belfast Parks & Recreation Department, and Waterfall Arts.
