BELFAST — Local poets will share original poems reflecting their love for Penobscot Bay, today, Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Belfast Common, by the labyrinth.
“Because we love the Bay and will protect it from harm,” said organizers, in a news release.
Featuring original works by: Meredith Bruskin, Kristen Frangoulis, Judy Kaber, Tom Moore (Belfast Poet Laureate 2017-2018) and Karin Spitfire (Belfast Poet Laureate 2007-2008). All are welcome during the open mic portion to share an original poem reflecting your love of Penobscot Bay.
There are many more poets lined up along with live music that will be performed between poetry readings, according to organizers.
“Come enjoy the beauty of the bay, the words of the poets and the sounds of live music!” said the release. “If you love the bay, want to share the arts with your community and yearn to protect what is left of creation, please join us.”
