On Thursday, April 16, at 6 p.m., the Camden Public Library and the Maine Mycological Association will host an online presentation by local mycologist and author Greg Marley entitled, “Mushroom Foraging in Maine and New England: Trends, Favorites, and Stories.”
The program will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform.
Mushrooming has taken hold across Maine as people flock to the forests and fields chasing the elusive fantastic fungi, according to the Library, in a news release. This talk will report on the results of a survey of mushrooms in the Northeast. Marley will discuss which wild mushrooms are favorites for eating.
There will be opportunities for participants to ask questions and lend their thoughts to the conversation.
Greg Marley has been collecting, eating, and studying wild mushrooms for over 45 years. He has shared his knowledge across Maine and New England for more than 25 years through talks, workshops, and seminars.
Marley is an active consultant regarding mushroom poisoning across New England and author of Mushrooms for Health and Chanterelle Dreams, Amanita Nightmares: the Love, Lore, and Mystique of mushrooms.
