WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 227 calls for service from Jan. 25-Feb. 4. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident on Depot Street at 10:08 p.m. Larry Wellman, 41, of Waldoboro, was traveling northbound on Depot Street, slid and spun across the roadway into the southbound shoulder, hit several trees and came to rest in a small stream.
Amanda Ferguson, 29, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Chase Bosse for disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest/refusing to sign summons.
Phillip Griffin, 19, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Bosse for expired registration.
Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen about two stolen guns.
Officer William Labombarde is investigating a report from the Medomak Valley High School about the theft of $40 from the boys junior varsity locker room.
Evelyn Underwood, 23, of Bath, was issued a summons by Officer Dwight Jones for operating after suspension.
Jones investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 5:38 p.m. James Kinney, 60, of Warren, was traveling northbound, following the roadway on the Atlantic Highway. Cindy Jadis, 29, of Waldoboro, was heading southbound, making a left turn and struck the Kinney vehicle.
Jadis was arrested by Jones for operating under the influence.
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident at the Main Street/Jefferson Street intersection at 12:52 p.m. Stephen Cotrone, 64, of West Roxbury, Mass., was attempting to cross Main Street and struck Leisa Sprague, 55, of Damariscotta, who was heading southbound on Main Street.
