ELLSWORTH and BLUE HILL — Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital (MCH) and Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital (BHH) have appointed Lori Jewett, MSN, RN, LSSBB as the new vice president of operations.

Most recently, Jewett served as the chief executive officer at Falmouth Hospital, in Massachusetts.

“She brings a fresh perspective and variety of skills to the two hospitals and is eager to learn more about the very special coastal Maine communities they serve, according to Northern Light Health, in a news release. “Keeping care local is extremely important, and an approach specifically used at her former hospital in Cape Cod. Jewett maintains that, in order to provide exceptional patient care, hospitals must lead with quality.”

John Ronan, president of MCH and BHH is pleased to welcome Jewett to the senior leadership team.

“Lori will make an excellent addition to our team,” said Ronan, in the release. “The combination of her strong clinical and administrative background will certainly benefit the operations of both BHH and MCH. Our clinical leaders and department managers are sure to learn from Lori’s extensive experience related to high-quality patient care, implementing clinical best practices, leadership development, and project management.”

This winter, Jewett moved to Bass Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, with her husband, to be closer to family. They have four children, the youngest who started college this past fall.
