BELFAST — The University of Maine Hutchinson Center will host a celebration and public meeting sponsored by the Belfast Creative Coalition on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 3 - 5 p.m.
The coalition will present the findings, goals, objectives and future steps of the Waldo County Arts and Cultural Plan, developed after more than a year of public meetings, surveys and analysis.
Area residents are encouraged to attend. The Hutchinson Center encourages widespread community involvement to help put the arts and cultural plan into action, according to the Hutchinson Center, in a news release.
“Our arts and culture plan is nearing its final stages,” said Larraine Brown, executive director of the Belfast Creative Coalition, in the release. “Input has been tremendous from all over Waldo County. We anticipate real and positive results within our arts communities and for our hardworking creators who make profoundly unique and even necessary contributions to our local economy and our way of life here in Maine.”
The event will also provide an opportunity for community members to view twenty-nine portraits by Maine photographer Lynn Karlin, and other Maine artists, in “What’s Art Got To Do With it?”
