Maine State Police Troop D blotter

    AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity Dec. 23 - Jan. 5. Troop D is responsible for Maine's Midcoast, including Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Waldo, and Knox counties, the southern half of Kennebec County and part of northern Cumberland County. The troop also patrols Interstate 295, from Brunswick to Gardiner. The troop's complement includes a lieutenant, three sergeants, 25 troopers and a secretary.

    Dec. 22

    Charles Janosky III, 35, was stopped on Route 3 in Palermo for speeding and was found to be in violation of his conditions of release; Janosky was charged with operating with suspended registration, attaching false plates, and violating conditions of release. 

    Sean Oxton, 43, of Waldo, was stopped for failing to use his vehicle’s headlights after dark. Oxton was found to be operating with a license that had expired more than two years earlier and was issued a summons for operating with an expired driver's license. 

    Dec. 23

    Zachary Brown, 33, of Northport, was stopped by Trooper Webber on Route 3 in Belfast and issued a summons for criminal operating after suspension. 

    Dec. 24

    Trooper Dunn, Detective Plourde, and recruits Anstett and Mattson responded to the scene of a reported family fight on Third Street in Randolph. Police had already visited the residence twice in the previous 12 hours for calls of a similar nature, during which Jeremy Upp, 43, and Amanda Bechard had each been given warnings for disorderly conduct. Both were arrested for disorderly conduct following the third incident.

    Dec. 26

    Trooper Verhille attempted to stop a vehicle that was reportedly operating erratically on I-295 by activating his lights and sirens, however, the vehicle continued north for another three miles to exit 49 before stopping on Route 201. Following additional investigation, the driver, Claude Cote, 64, of Lincoln, Rhode Island, was reportedly found to be impaired and he was arrested for failure to stop for law enforcement and operating under the influence. Cote refused breath testing and was transported to Kennebec County Jail. 

    Dec. 28

    Samantha Tasimo, 30, of Stockton Springs, was stopped by Trooper Webber and Corporal Robinson on Route 3 in Liberty and ultimately arrested for operating under the influence.

    Jessica Shaughnessy, 32, of Augusta, was stopped for speeding on Water Street in Augusta. Further investigation revealed Shaughnessy had a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear and a subsequent search of her vehicle resulted in the discoverer of unprescribed pain pills. Shaughnessy was charged with possession of schedule Z drugs. 

    Dec. 29

    Jennifer Beattie, 54, of Oakland, and Abdul-Rashib Bilal, 22, of New York, New York, were stopped for traveling with an expired and suspended registration. Following further investigation, Beattie was charged with operating with suspended registration and violating conditions of release. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 

    Ethan Mitchell, 19, of Searsmont, was stopped on Route 173 in Searsmont and found to be operating with a permit while transporting four juveniles. Mitchell was issued a summons for operating without a driver’s license. 

    Dec. 30

    David Dineen, 56, of Gardiner, was stopped on Water Street in Randolph for operating with expired registration and was issued a summons for the offense. 

    Trooper Nunez responded to a reported vehicle that slid off the road in Route 126 in West Gardiner. The driver was uninjured and the vehicle was undamaged. 

    Dec. 31

    Evan West, 21, of Belmont, was arrested after he was discovered traveling in a vehicle with three juveniles. All parties reportedly admitted West was providing them with schedule Z drugs, which were recovered from the vehicle. West was charged with furnishing scheduled drugs. 

    Jan. 1

    John Kiermaier, 67, of Augusta, was issued a summons for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. 

    Jan. 3

    A bail check was conducted on Devere Cudo, 31, of Farmingdale, where he was reportedly observed trying to hide a bottle of alcohol inside his residence. Cudo was arrested for violating conditions of release. 

    Leo Coutu, 34, of Augusta, was stopped on Grant Street in Farmingdale for a defective taillight. Coutu reportedly attempted to elude police before crashing into a snowbank and was arrested for three warrants, operating after suspension, and possession of schedule Z drugs. 

    Deanna Jones, 37, of Farmingdale, was stopped for expired registration on Maine Avenue in Farmingdale and issued a summons for the offense. 

    Jan. 4

    Richard Sears, 31, of China, was issued a summons for attaching false plates on Western Ave in Augusta.
