UNION — Union Historical Society presents numismatist Brad Hennemuth, of Lincolnville, Wednesday, September 4, at 7 p.m., in the Old Town House to tell the story of America’s early currency.
The British colonies of the new world were nearly flat broke when they united in the fateful decision to declare independence from Britain. The future United States of America would have to beg, borrow, steal, and print money in order to fund the war for independence.
Hennemuth’s PowerPoint presentation explains how it was done and the people who accomplished it.
Refreshments will be served following the program.
