Girl Scout Troop plans fundraisers ahead of big trip

ST. GEORGE — St. George-based Girl Scout Troop 1831 is headed to Orlando, Florida, in October 2020.

All 10 active members and their leaders will be attending the Girl Scout National Convention, which is joined by thousands of other Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from all over the world.

They will gain inspiration, tools to empower themselves and the know-how to lead change in their communities, connecting with some of the most influential women in the world.

Troop 1831, consisting of girls from St. George, Rockland and Washington, who will be cadets, seniors and ambassadors.

They will be doing several events to earn $8000 to pay for this trip. Bottle drives, car washes, bake sales, dinners, babysitting and a yard sale are among the many planned over the next several months.

“Come say ‘Hi,’ ask about our trip and show your support when you see us out and about,” said Troop 1831, in a news release.
