    SEARSPORT — Carver Memorial Library celebrates the past while looking toward the future this July. 

    Paper Planets - Tuesday, July 2, 3 p.m. Make and decorate a planet or comet on a stick (perfect to carry in the parade!).
     
    4th of July Parade - Thurs, 10:15 a.m., line up at Steamboat Ave.
    March with us! Everyone is invited to celebrate the library in the parade. Bring planets on a stick, books, and/or flags to wave. (Come to the Paper Planets program on Tuesday, July 2 at 3 p.m., to make a paper planet or comet on a stick.) Wear sunscreen! We offer a special invitation to our Friends and volunteers, whose dedication and support mean so much to the library and our community.
    We will meet to line up at Steamboat Ave. at 10:15 a.m. The parade starts at 11. The route will be about half a mile, from Norris Ave to Mortland Ave.

    Closed for July 4 - the library will open again July 5.

    Library Garden - Fri. July 12, 2 p.m.
    Let’s get our garden growing at the library! We’ll walk our grounds and make plans for the future.
     
    Evening Mystery Book Club - Tues. July 16, 6:30 p.m.
    We’ll discuss Tess Gerritsen’s The Harvest and Sarah Graves’ Dead Cat Bounce. Come for one or both!
     
    Altered Book Art - Wed, July 17, 3:30 p.m. Make beautiful art out of discarded books. For adults and teens.
     
    Galaxy Paperweights – Wed, July 31, 3 p.m. Paint paperweight rocks with galaxies and constellations.
