Finding Our Voices, Patrisha McLean’s multi-media project about women breaking the silence over the domestic abuse in their lives, opens in Castine on Thursday, May 23, with the opening reception on Sunday, May 26, from 4  to 6 p.m.

The exhibit at the Annex Arts gallery, 8 Water Street, will feature 15 large color portraits of women survivors of domestic abuse of all ages and from all walks of life and all over Maine, plus their stories in their own voices. The gallery is open every day from 11 a.m to 4 p.m.

The Castine show is the second stop on a Finding Our Voices tour booked into 2020 that includes summer events on North Haven, Vinalhaven, Islesboro and CMCA in Rockland, and a three month exhibit opening mid-September at the Human Rights and Holocaust Museum in Augusta.

The full Finding Our Voices touring schedule and more information about the project can be found at www.FindingOurVoices.net.
