ROCKPORT — In celebration of spring and the return of song birds, Coastal Mountains Land Trust will host a bird walk at Beech Hill Preserve on Saturday, May 18, at 7 a.m.
Meet at the Rockville Street trailhead to Beech Hill (NOT near the Blueberry barn) with binoculars, water, insect repellent, and appropriate clothing. Be prepared to do a thorough tick check afterwards, according to the Land Trust, in a news release.
Expert birder Brian Willson will lead this early morning walk, ending at Beech Nut, at the top of the hill, for coffee and donuts, plus classical guitar music by Malcolm Brooks.
If you want to come for only the music, arrive at 9 a.m., park at the Beech Hill Road trailhead near the main gates and come up the farm road to the hut. Allow enough time to walk up the half-mile road.
