HOPE — Tuesday, May 21, Lawrence Trueman will talk on where to look for historical treasures, display what he looks with, and show some of what he has found.
Yes, this is Larry Trueman of LT Auctions from Thomaston and St. George, but the treasures in question are not going to be your 3xgreat grandmother’s furniture or house, according to the Historical Society, in a news release.
For 44 years, Trueman has been scouring Midcoast Maine with metal detectors and finding lost historical sites.
His talk follows the recent session on how to locate old home sites using State of Maine aerial maps, also featured in Hope Historical’s “How to DO History” series.
Treasure Hunting in Maine will start at 7 p.m., following a brief business meeting at 6:30.
The Hope Historical Home is in Hope Corner just beyond the corner store where Routes 105 and 235 diverge.
All Hope Historical Society meetings are free and open to the public.
