Camden Police Department hires new parking enforcement, animal control officer
CAMDEN/ROCKPORT – The Camden Police Department has hired a new animal control and parking enforcement officer. In July, Scott Entwistle replaced Mark Bennett who took a job with the department as a full-time patrol officer.
The position will continue to cover both Camden and Rockport.
Entwistle’s most recent position was with the Knox Regional Communications Center in Rockland as a dispatcher.
He is a familiar face in Camden, having served with the fire department for five years and for two years as a lieutenant.
Entwistle is also a certified state harbormaster and fills in when needed, assisting Camden Harbormaster Steve Pixley, during large events like the Windjammer Festival.
He said that he loves Camden.
“It’s where I grew up,” said Entwistle.
He hopes to attend the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, in Vassalboro, in the near future for training to become a reserve officer with Camden.
He graduated from Camden Hills Regional School in 2010 and studied professional mariner training at the Chapman School of Seamanship in Stuart, Florida.
