The University of Maine Cooperative Extension seeks a full time Maine Families Parent Education Professional for Knox County. This position supports parents in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher starting in pregnancy and through the first three years of a child’s life. Through regularly scheduled home visits, Family Visitors use the Parents As Teachers evidenced based model to promote positive parent-child interaction, build parenting skills and knowledge, and support family well-being. A bachelor’s degree in child development, early education, social work or a related field and a minimum of one year paid experience working with children ages birth to 6 years old is required. Must have a valid Maine driver’s license and a reliable, registered and insured vehicle. Must also past all required background checks.
