KENNEBUNK — Two local golfers participated in the Maine Women’s Amateur golf championship this week.
The event, held July 22-24 at the Webhannet Golf Club in Kennebunk, was slated to be a 54-hole event over three days before weather cancelled the Tuesday round.
As a result, the event was only played July 22 and July 24, making it 36 rounds over the two days.
From the Rockland Golf Club, Susan Wootton and Nancy Carlson participated in the tournament.
Wootton and Carlson both finished the first round Monday 18-over-par and tied for 34th place with a score of 90.
In the second round, Wootton finished tied for 53rd place and 26-over-par with a score of 98, while Carlson finished 19-over-par and tied for 36th with a score of 91.
For the tournament, Wootton finished tied for 44th place and 44-over-par with a total score of 188, while Carlson finished 37-over-par and with a total score of 181 to tie for 36th place.
