Women’s seminar to focus on self-compassion
Camden, September 14, 2018 – Quarry Hill’s Women After 50 series aimed at building a sense of community among older women continues this with a half-day gathering focused on treating oneself with compassion, scheduled for Wednesday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill. The event will be facilitated by art therapists and counselors Lisa Cohn, MA, LPC-C, and Bodhi Simpson, LCPC, ATR.
Cohn and Simpson note that while most women feel compassion for others, they often hold themselves to unmeetable standards and berate themselves when they fall short of their goals. The October 24 session will emphasize relaxed, supportive discussion and use of the creative process SoulCollage® to help each participant gain insight into her life’s purpose and unique gifts for greater self-acceptance.
Events in the Women After 50 series center on a variety of themes. Admission is free and open to all mature women. Facilitators encourage participants to continue gathering on their own, in their homes or other settings, to further the dialogue and connections that each program inspires.
Registration is required for all events at Quarry Hill. To sign up for the October 24 program, please call (207) 921-6116 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
