Winter Art Exhibit features 14 year-old photographer: The World as I See It
The Gibbs Library presents its Winter Art Exhibit, "The World as I See It: Capturing the world through a 14-year-old’s eyes."
Raised in Washington, Finlay Donaghy is a fourteen-year-old freshman in high school. He’s loved art for as long as he can remember. Any medium, if it’s crayons on paper, thread in fabric, or even a photo in a frame. These photos range from a clock to a butterfly, as he tries to show each interest he takes in making art. Finlay chose photography as his medium in this display because he finds it easiest to show you the world, as he sees it, in photography.
"I take these photos with the inspiration of how I see the world," said Finlay. "For the last two years, I've used an Akaso action camera, a cell phone, and various editing apps to show you these pieces. My hope, in showing you these shots, is for you to see the world as I see it."
The exhibit can be viewed from November 1 through December 2025. A reception with light refreshments will be held Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m.
