ROCKPORT — The Georges River Chapter of Trout Unlimited (GRTU) will host speaker Gary Merrill during the monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 10, in the upstairs mezzanine at Flatbread Co., 399 Commercial St. ( rte 1) in Rockport.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with an informal gathering for conversation and dinner from the menu for those who wish. The members’ meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Gary Merrill is the founder of Wilderness Waters Travel. He specializes in creating custom fly fishing adventures to the most wild and remote regions of Alaska for remote tent camps, fly outs, and river float trips. Merrill is a long time Alaskan bush pilot, guide since 1974, and now the former owner of the Royal Coachman Lodge, so he knows what makes a truly great angling experience, according to GRTU, in a news release.
GRTU and his wife live in Cornish.
Trout Unlimited membership is open to all, and the Georges River chapter welcomes new members from Midcoast Maine. Meetings are free and open to the public.
A raffle will be held directly following the speaker in support of GRTU's local conservation projects.
