BELFAST — Waterfall Arts’ annual Handmade art and craft show and sale returns to the Clifford Gallery for its 8th year on Friday, Dec. 6, with a glittering opening party that all are welcome to attend.
The 5 - 8 p.m. event will be merry with refreshments and food, according to Waterfall Arts, in a news release. Young artists from the after school art programs at Waterfall Arts will be in the Bridge Studio creating one-of-a-kind, artful wrapping paper for purchases.
Handmade is a juried show that includes work from artists and makers from all over Maine and beyond. Proceeds from sales benefit both the vendors and Waterfall Arts.
For Handmade, the Clifford Gallery is transformed into a modern marketplace complete with displays and racks full of a variety of wares, including finely made glass, ceramics, jewelry, prints, drawings, paintings, sculptures, specialty foods, soaps, tea, cards, textiles, journals, clothing, décor, and much more.
Handmade will continue through Sunday, December 22. Hours will be Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 4 p.m.
Also opening on Friday, December 6 at Waterfall Arts is Den of Wizards, a printmaking exhibition by Shawn Brewer. The exhibition will be at Waterfall Arts in the Corridor Gallery from December 6 - December 22.
Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in downtown Belfast.
Exhibitions at Waterfall Arts are made possible by yearlong Lead Sponsors, Viking Lumber and Whitecap Builders. Additional support is provided by foundations such as the Onion Foundation and Morton Kelly Charitable Trust.
Launched in 2000, Waterfall Arts is a community arts center that offers resources to students, professionals, and arts enthusiasts of all ages. Opportunities include classes, exhibitions, art events, performances, open community studios (clay, print, and darkroom photography), public art projects, and more.
