‘Walkin’ the Line – A Tribute to Johnny Cash’ comes to Watts Hall

    THOMASTON — Watts Hall Community Arts presents two performances of “Walkin’ the Line – A Tribute to Johnny Cash" Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3, at 7 p.m., in the upstairs auditorium of Watts Hall, 174 Main St. The live show stars Scott Moreau as The Man in Black, backed by a band of local musicians. 

    Moreau, a native of Litchfield, has traveled the world performing as Johnny Cash for more than a decade. Ten years ago, he wrote “Walkin’ the Line” based on interviews, anecdotes and portions of Johnny's autobiography “Cash” and featuring more than 25 of Johnny's best loved songs. He’s also toured as Cash in “Million Dollar Quartet,” including a run at Maine State Music Theatre. 

    Moreau will be performing at Watts Hall with a quartet featuring Tommy Hanna on guitar, Bill Hahn on keyboards, Art Grinnell on bass and Bill Batty on drums. 

    “Walkin’ the Line” runs two hours and includes an intermission. The nearby Block Saloon will provide a cash bar, and concessions will be available by donation. Seating is general admission; doors open at 6:30 p.m. both nights.

    Tickets are $35 in advance through noon on Dec. 2 for the Dec. 2 show and noon on Dec. 3 for the Dec. 3 show via EventBrite, linked at wattshallthomaston.com. If available, tickets at the door will be $40.
