WALDOBORO - Now that the snow has melted roadside trash is visible, the Town of Waldoboro Shellfish Committee needs the help of community volunteers to clean up streets, parks and trails.
Do you have a favorite place in town like Quarry Hill, the Town Forest, Dutch Neck Marine Park or West Main Street, Route 32, Jefferson Street or Mill Street? The committee invites you to come out and join the effort to beautify Waldoboro this spring.
The Town of Waldoboro Shellfish Committee will be offering four “Keep Waldoboro Beautiful” events this spring. The Commercial Shellfish Harvesters will be doing a shoreline cleanup for its conservation hours.
The committee is reaching out to active and concerned citizens about taking to the streets...this would be all the debris that is eventually headed to the river.
The following event times are scheduled:
Saturday, April 10, 9:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 25, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 23, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, June 5, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The start of all events is at the Town Landing on Pine Street. This is for people to sign in, get bags, and to let us know where you would like to pitch in their efforts.
From there, people can disperse and come back at any time, before the end of the event, and the debris can be thrown in a waiting dump truck.
