Waldoboro Police beat: Drug possession, stolen cell phone, OUI

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 313 calls for service from July 25-Aug. 9. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    July 25                

    Anthony Feltis, 33, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Justin Hills for violating the municipal shellfish ordinance.

    Hills investigated a report from a citizen about criminal mischief to his property.

    Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen about criminal mischief to a backboard at the town basketball court.

    July 27                     

    Mitchell Kihn, 65, of Warren, was arrested by Sgt. Jamie Wilson for operating under the influence.

    July 28            

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a gas station about a $10 gasoline drive off.

    Philip Libby, Jr., 53, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and operating under the influence.

    July 30        

    Russell Hardin, 37, of Mass. (no town listed), was arrested by Officer Dwight Jones on a warrant.

    Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen about his stolen cell phone.

    Jones is investigating a report from a citizen about stolen medication.

    July 31        

    Evan Cole, 24, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Jones for speed.

    Nathaniel Szendrei, 34, Lincolnville, was issued a summons by Jones for unregistered motor vehicle.

    Lizza Doyle, 39, of Rockland, was issued a summons by Officer Nathaniel Jack for uninspected motor vehicle.

    Aug. 1         

    Tasia Libby, 23, of Brewer, was issued a summons by Jack for uninspected motor vehicle.

    Jack is investigating a report from Hannaford about the theft of $27 worth of alcohol.

    Jack is investigating a report from a citizen about his stolen wallet.

    Aug. 2                 

    John Billings, 73, of Jefferson, was arrested by Officer Jeffery Fuller for failing to stop for a police officer.

    Aug. 3      

    Officer Dwight Jones investigated an accident on the Friendship Road at 10:24 p.m. Shane Jewell, 27, was traveling southbound, following the roadway, ran off the road causing damage to grass, trees, and vegetation.

    Shane Jewell was arrested by Jones for operating under the influence.

    Aug. 4         

    Melissa Griffin, 46, of Rockland, was issued a summons by Fuller for negotiating a worthless instrument.                  

    Sgt. Jamie Wilson is investigating a report from a citizen about the theft of her registration and stickers.

    Aug. 5         

    Douglas Barter, 52, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller for domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening and refusing to submit to arrest/detention.

    Fuller is investigating a report from Margaret Simmons of the theft of her ladder and possible criminal mischief to her tractor.

    Bartunek investigated an accident on the Old Augusta Road at 11:59 p.m. A male juvenile, 16, of Warren, was traveling eastbound, following the roadway and ran off the road.

    The male juvenile was issued a summons by Bartunek for operating under the influence.

    Aug. 6                            

    Terrance Winslow, 65, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Dwight Jones for terrorizing and disorderly conduct.                  

    Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 8:33 a.m. William Robinson, 53, of Waldoboro, was traveling northbound, drifted to the side of the road and struck a mailbox.

    Santheson is investigating a report from a gas station about the possible theft of money.
